Three letters from W.A. Meriwether, Secretary and Treasurer of the Highland Park Land Company of Louisville to his granddaughter Julia Mengel in Sagamore, N.Y., New York City, and Portsmouth, N.H. Meriwether writes to his granddaughter regarding her experiences away at school. He encourages her studies and asks her to visit soon and write often. In a 17 August 1901 letter, Meriwether notes having read in the newspaper that her father was recently offered the Collectorship of the Internal Revenue Service of the District by the President.
